Greyhound Rescue of N.E. is pleased to announce our annual Greyhound Festival and Reunion featuring a fundraiser Walk-a-thon.  Come out to River Bend Farm State Park, 287 Oak Street, in Uxbridge, MA on September 27, 2008 from 11:00-3:00 for an afternoon of fun.  Bring your kids and your Greyhounds (or your large well-behaved dog), or come alone!  There will be vendors with lots of Greyhound merchandise to buy, raffles, a silent auction, games for the dogs, face painting, doggie massage, nail cutting, pictures with your dog, dog training demonstration, information booths, and yummy food.   Come visit with other Greyhound owners, shop, eat, and just have fun.  We can all share Greyhound stories or learn something new about this great breed.   (Come even if you don’t have a Greyhound!) 

At the same time we’ll also have our Annual Walk-a-thon.  This is our biggest fundraiser so we hope you will all participate!  Right at River Bend Farm there’s a beautiful two-mile walk along the Blackstone River.  All you have to do is start with a Sponsor Sheet and ask friends, family and co-workers to sponsor your walk.  Then bring your sponsor sheet and donations, and walk with others along this scenic river (you can walk the 2 miles, or just part of it).  Call the kennel or check our web site for a sponsor sheet or directions to the park.  We’ll have a  free sweatshirt for all that collect over $100, a goodie bag full of great stuff for anyone turning in pledges, and special prizes for the top 3 fundraisers.   

Greyhound Rescue of N.E., Inc. is a small non-profit organization dedicated to saving retired racing Greyhounds when their racing careers have ended, and finding them loving homes.  We have an adoption kennel in Mendon, MA and have saved over 530 Greyhounds since 1999.  Greyhounds make wonderful, loving and loyal pets.  Call the kennel to come visit our dogs waiting for homes, or to talk about this great breed.  All proceeds from this event will benefit Greyhounds at Greyhound Rescue of N.E.
